Dark Energy - Best Daily Science

The old scientific version of creation went something like this - incomprehensible billions of years ago there was a bang at a point of infinite density that set in motion our universe. It expanded very rapidly at first and since the initial blast, it has been slowing down. This seems intuitive since it is how our personal, observable world works.
However, a new discovery, somehow tied to the idea of “dark energy”, suggests that the universe is increasing in speed as it expands. The gravity thought to be at the center of the infinitely dense origin of the big bang does not exist. The universe is propelled by anti-gravity. This idea has theoretically physicists scratching their heads trying to reconfigure their understanding of the universal glue that holds the everything together. All I can say is good luck!
